COVID-19 Protocols Reminder

As our season gets underway and we have started playing games against other clubs, we wanted to remind you of your responsibilites, as parents and spectators, with respect to COVID-19 compliance.  Unfortunately, not all of our teams, players, coaches, parents and spectators have been adhering to our requirements, which has resulted in ASC receiving a number of complaints.  Our season will be in jeopardy if the Avon soccer community cannot exhibit behavior in accordance with the rules.

For those of you who have been following our guidelines, THANK YOU!  You are setting a great example for everyone.

Listed below are the protocols and regulations that everyone is required to follow:

  • Players, coaches and spectators must wear masks coming to and from the field.

  • During games, spectators must wear masks and maintain a 6' social distance from others outside their family unit, including from sideline referees. NO EXCEPTIONS!

  • Players must wear masks when not actively involved in soccer activities (including on sidelines when not playing).

  • Coaches need to wear masks at all times.

  • Parents need to screen players for symptoms before attending games.

  • Coaches will be asking players, before all games and practices, "Are any of you feeling sick, running a fever, experiencing persistent cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, chills, loss of taste or smell?"

  • A 10’ buffer will be established between assistant referees and spectators/teams.

  • No public seating may be used, including any benches and bleachers.

  • Both teams will be located on the same sideline...all spectators will be located on the opposite sideline.

  • A field marshal will be present to ensure protocols are being followed.  This individual has the authority to delay, suspend and/or cancel a game for non-compliance.

  • Players, parents, coaches and spectators should vacate the fields and parking lots immediately after game.

No one wants the soccer season to end prematurely due to non-compliance, so please do your part!

Wear your Mask!  Keep your Distance!  Keep us Playing!
